The Journal of Geoeconomics announces three new Calls for Papers addressing American economic coercion, exercises and simulations in geoeconomics, and maritime geoeconomics and chokepoints. These calls invite authors to contribute empirically grounded research, systematic analysis, and carefully documented case studies that advances understanding of economic statecraft, strategic interdependence, maritime geoeconomics, and the use of exercises and simulations to study geoeconomic dynamics. The Journal of Geoeconomics launches its Case Study Series with a thematic focus on China's economic coercion, offering concise, peer-reviewed accounts of significant geoeconomic episodes and contributing to a growing empirical record for the field. The first cases trace how economic pressure is deployed, contested, and absorbed across different countries, sectors, and political contexts. The Journal welcomes ongoing submissions to the Case Study Series and will issue further thematic calls as part of its ongoing effort to build a structured repository of empirical material for the study of geoeconomics.

The Journal of Geoeconomics is pleased to announce its launch with the publication of Volume 1 (2026), the Journal’s inaugural volume. We are grateful to our esteemed Editorial Board, authors, reviewers, and contributors for their support of the Journal of Geoeconomics and its inaugural volume. The Journal publishes continuously, with one volume per year and articles added as they become ready for publication. The Journal of Geoeconomics welcomes submissions on a rolling basis across all article formats via our Submissions Portal.
